Faced with the urging need to re-invent our future, combined with an unsustainable energy demand and an ever-growing population, the world must re-think its approach to economic development. As much as this challenge is world-scale, so are the opportunities to build new industries that respond with innovative solutions that decrease or eliminate our carbon footprint. As entire nations look to reinvent themselves into the new century, fostering new generations of highly-skilled scientists and engineers has now become critically important.

Destination Zero Carbon sets the vision for a new human journey. One that moves away from our current dependence on increasingly expensive, hydrocarbon fuels towards a carbon-free energy future, and positions our future workforce - today's students - at the forefront of change. We aim to provide students with an immersive and competitive arena that develops the spirit of invention that is needed to usher in the new age of green energy industries.

Our mission is to inspire young people to become green science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting design, engineering and competitive programs that build engineering and technology skills, foster innovation, and encourage self-confidence, communication, and leadership. Our mission has chosen to focus on promoting "zero carbon" vehicle racing competitions - from simple model scale cars developed by elementary school students, to complex real-scale competition cars designed by university teams.

Destination Zero Carbon brings imagination, creativity, and the spirit of invention to young people, and makes science education fun. We encourage schools to sign up and start participating in those competitions that exist in their country or region. We have standardized our hardware, software, and classroom material so that students can compete globally.
